To Speak with a Golden Voice Exhibit: Many people associate the works of Bill Reid with the recognizable style of Northwest Coast Indigenous art. The Haida goldsmith, carver, sculptor, writer, broadcaster, mentor, and community activist has created a monumental legacy—one that is being honoured in To Speak With a Golden Voice, the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art’s latest exhibit. Exhibition: John Velten | The Gravitation That Forms Us: “John Velten’s artistic practice is a relational philosophy made material. Deeply invested in understanding selfhood from a continual, circular, set of emergent relationships, Velten prompts visitors to ask themselves: what connections have been crucially important to me? Velten’s artistic biography is rich with community and collaborative projects, having worked on initiatives such as Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week, Vancouver Art Community Live Painting, Vancouver Mural Festival, and many more.”

Artist Talks- PuSh Festival Rally: “Carmen Aguirre and Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory are two of our country’s leading performance makers. Their works grapple with conversations of identity and place, reflecting an influence of other cultural practices and histories that confront what western practices often don’t know. We invite them to share their visionary practices with audiences at The Rally.”
