The Full Light of Day: “Set in Canada’s urban financial centres, The Full Light of Day tells the story of a mother who must contend with her husband’s corrupt legacy before she dies. Unsettling Perspectives: Subverting the Colonial Gaze: “Manuel Axel Strain is a Two-Spirited interdisciplinary artist of Musqueam, Secwepemc, and Syilx descent. His purpose is to redefine his indigeneity to gain a greater sense of empowerment and break the cycle of inaccurate generalizations. He intends to move beyond the binary opposition of the colonizer and the colonized to establish new ontologies for the First Nations identity.”

The Woman Who Loves Giraffes: “23-year old Canadian biologist, Anne Innis Dagg, made an unprecedented solo journey to South Africa to become the first person in the world to study animal behavior in the wild on that continent. When she returned home a year later armed with ground-breaking research, the insurmountable barriers she faced as a female scientist proved much harder to overcome.”

Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra in J.S. Bach: Circle of Creation:The Circle of Creation combines text, music, and stunning projected video and images to explore the world of the artisans — papermakers, violin carvers, string spinners, and performers — who helped J.S. Bach realize his musical genius. This all-Bach programme is performed by Tafelmusik musicians entirely from memory.”
