A monthly round up of Resistance Research, including quotes, news, analysis, inspiration, and action items. Let’s break this regime down into actionable items and take it down, bit by bit!
“Nothing strengthens authority so much as silence.” – Leonardo Da Vinci
This Month’s Action:
This month we found out that the National Arts Centre’s Indigenous Theatre section received no funding whatsoever from the federal government. Denying funding to the first-ever season of theatre by Indigenous artists is not how reconciliation works. This month you can do two things to help fix this:
Donate money to the Indigenous Theatre section directly.
Get on the horn with your own MP as well as the Minister of Heritage Pablo Rodriguez (pablo.rodriguez@parl.gc.ca) to let them know you expect better.
