If braving public transit, especially during Vancouver’s unusual cold snap, doesn’t appeal to you, or, if you are a New West local wanting to plan your next Girls Night Out closer to home, browse our curated list of GNO locales.

El Santo

Let’s face it: tacos are life. El Santo, situated on the downtown New West strip, embodies both the diversity of Mexican food and the fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients of the West Coast in innovative plates and classic staples.

Happy hour: daily from 3-6 pm

Hub restaurant new west

Conveniently located at the skytrain for commuters and locals alike, The Hub is a low-key spot that serves upscale pub fair with a lofty view of the Fraser River.

Happy Hour: daily 3-6pm + 10pm-Close

Paint and sip night at 100 braid street studios & gallery

100 Braid Street is an inclusive working art studio in New West that hosts numerous community based events including Pain and Sip night. Akin to Vancouver’s late Raw Canvas, Paint and Sip supplies the beer, wine, and appies (and coffee and tea for the designated drivers), while you create your next masterpiece.

Look out for future Paint and Sip nights at 100 Braid Street here.

Old Crow coffee co.

Breaking free from the norm of starting a hip minimalist coffee shop in Vancouver, Old Crow Coffee found it’s home on New Westminster’s lesser populated Front Street. Hosting open mic nights, art shows, and pop-up craft markets, Old Crow Coffee could be your next GNO go-to.

steel&Oak brewing

Who said craft beer is a bro scene? We certainly didn’t. Enjoy your next GNO at New West’s only microbrewery and grab some Steel&Oak merch while you’re at it.

Lafflines at the columbia

The Columbia is a homey spot for drinks, laughter, and local and touring talent in building that is rich with heritage. Fun fact about The Columbia: New West was at one point, the epicentre of BC entertainment. The same painter that painter the gold filigree inside the Titanic, painted the murals inside the Columbia still there today.

Plan your next GNO at Lafflines here.
