If you didn’t that the chance to attend the #GLITTERGURLZ photography show on Oct. 12th, put your FOMO to rest: we’ve brought Anita Cheung’s brilliant, cheeky, and exploratory work to Loose Lips.

#GLITTERGURLZ forays into the female sexual experience, documenting “the money shot,” something that usually resembles male dominance in the bedroom, and the completion of sex, but through the female lens. Cheung’s work probes the questions and internal moral dilemmas often shared by women, in a series of evocative, playful, and sexy images that parodize the male gaze with, you guessed it, glitter.

“Is it degrading? How could I want something like this? But I love you and I ‘couldn’t do that to you.’ Do I want this? What does it say about me if I don’t? What does it say about me if I do?”

“Growing up in a sexually-repressed, traditional, East-Asian immigrant family [my] sexual knowledge was really only explored and awakened through porn,” says Cheung. “In the fairytale world of porn, #GLITTERGURLZ showcases what happens [post-climax]: awkward puddles, drips, and the clean up.”

Think of #GLITTERGURLZ as an artistic conduit for the (heterosexual) female experience. Cheung cleverly uses glitz and glamour to satirize our sexual fascination (and curiosity) with the male orgasm, and well, we’re obsessed.

Enjoy.
