Resistance Roundup: Volume Six

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” ― Carl Sagan

This Month’s Action:

There has been a plethora of insanity this month: more threats to healthcare, the Russian collusion, attacking the Attorney General on Twitter, banning transgendered people from the military. But this excited me the most: on July 12th, the first articles of impeachment were filed by Brad Sherman.

Right now, very few representatives (including Democrats) support impeachment, and so this particular article will likely go nowhere (I haven’t been able to find anything on it since the filing, so maybe it already has). It won’t be the last article filed, though. Now is the time to get on the phone, fire up your email, and let your representatives know that you support impeachment.

This Month’s Reading:

Another Obamacare Repeal Bill Falls Short: Seven Republican senators voted against this bill. Maybe send them a thank you note? (And just for fun, it’s good to know that those fighting Trumpcare represent 36 million more Americans than those supporting it.)
