Resistance Roundup: Volume four

“Nobody in the world, nobody in history, has ever gotten their freedom by appealing to the moral sense of the people who were oppressing them.” – Assata Shakur

This month’s action:

Pay attention to – and get involved in – your local politics. No matter where you live, local governance makes a tangible difference in your day-to-day life. Plus, where you can try to email Trump, you can probably even get meetings with your local leaders.

It’s more than just bike paths and park regulations – our local leaders advocate for us to larger bodies. This is where sanctuary cities come from and where safe injection sites are born. Research your city’s politicians, and have a look at their policies. Let them know what matters to you.
