It’s no secret that Vancouver, being the #woke city it is, is teeming with ladypreneurs and female-forward businesses. In a specific corner of Gastown, however, there’s a concentrated number of babe bosses that happen to share a roof with us. Loose Lips Mag is honoured to work in Vancouver’s iconic Dominion Building, soaking up all of that female hustler energy.

Modern meditation at its finest. Co-founder Anita Cheung (you might remember her as the founder of the Social Yoga), along with a village of 19, has created a meditation haven on the third floor of the Dominion Building

Owner and founder Katherine Huie founded Foe&Dear in her apartment in New York, and has since brought her beautiful work to Vancouver. Designed with durability, her one of a kind, handcrafted jewelry is timeless and elegant-suitable for any occasion.

Kate Horsman

The ballet dancer-turned-model, designer, and now entrepreneur, Holistic Nutritionist and Natural Foods Chef, recently set up camp in the Dominion Building and has brought her Rebel Health method with her. She works with clients privately as well as through workshops and retreats specializing in women’s health, body image and eating disorder treatment, and plant-based nutrition. Kate will be co-hosting a retreat in Mexico this October, alongside Dr Genieve Burley, a prominent Vancouver Chiropractor and Yoga Instructor that focuses on natural nourishment for the body, mind, and soul. Women in Film + Television Vancouver

Women In Film + Television Vancouver (WIFTV) is one of 35 chapters of Women in Film across the world. The member-driven, not-for-profit society supports the artistic and professional development of women in the Canadian screen-based media community. Cozied up on the fifth floor, the organization recently put together the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival that kicked off, fittingly, on International Women’s Day and ran until March 12 at Vancity Theatre. Check out their events calendar for upcoming networking breakfasts and film showcases.

Open Media

The ladies at OpenMedia bring an all new meaning to keyboard warriors — and we’re not talking about internet arguers or armchair activists. Led by executive director Laura Tribe and community engagement specialist Aleks Besan on the fourth floor, OpenMedia’s mandate is to keep the Internet open, affordable, and surveillance-free. Their community-driven campaigns engage, educate, and empower people to safeguard the Internet.
